Renowned adventurer Alastair Humphreys set to inspire local business leaders at BCP Business Festival

Adventurer Alastair Humphreys sat down

One of Britain’s most well-known modern-day adventurers will be inspiring local business leaders this November, as he opens the BCP Business Festival.

An evening with Alastair Humphreys will be the first event of the ten-day programme of free events for business leaders, designed to help them bounce back from the impact of the pandemic.

Taking place on Wednesday 17 November, 6pm – 9.30pm at the Bournemouth Pavilion, Alastair – who has also authored 13 books – will talk about his amazing expeditions that have taken him to over 80 countries by bicycle, boat and on foot, and how everyone can introduce everyday adventures into their own lives.

Named as one of National Geographic’s ‘Adventurers of the year’ in 2012, Alastair has more recently walked across southern India, rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, run six marathons through the Sahara desert, taken part in an expedition in the Arctic – and walked 120 miles around the M25, as one of his pioneering microadventures!

Business leaders attending the evening event will also be able to take part in an open Q&A with Alastair, followed by a drinks reception and networking opportunity.

Funded by BCP Council’s Bounce Back Fund, the BCP Business Festival is being organised by the Poole-based community for entrepreneurs and business leaders, Evolve, in partnership with business and tax advisors, Inspire.

Warren Munson, founder of Evolve and Inspire, commented: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Alastair to open the BCP Business Festival this year.

“His achievements are an incredible inspiration and I know that many local business leaders will be eager to hear about Alastair’s adventures and how they translate what they have heard into their own everyday adventures and motivation for their own businesses.  It’s set to be an outstanding evening.”

After a tough 18 months for many businesses, the BCP Business Festival has an exciting line-up of events, workshops, panel discussions and inspirational speakers designed to give business leaders the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn something new and be ready to take advantage of opportunities as the country emerges from the pandemic.
