Pip Hare returns to Poole

Waving flares on her 60ft yacht Medallia, Pip Hare was given a police escort into Poole Harbour on Wednesday to celebrate her completion of the Vendée Globe round the world yacht race.

Pip is only the eighth woman to have finished the race, and was the first British skipper to complete this year’s race. She finished 19th overall, taking 95 days, 11 hours and 37 minutes to cover the 24,365 mile challenge.

“Both Evolve and Inspire are proud to have been a supporter of Pip’s challenge from the very beginning, and both our teams were with her in spirit all the way,” said Evolve and Inspire founder Warren Munson. “We checked in on her journey every day and are both excited by her incredible achievement and pleased she is back home safely.”
