This workshop will give you an overview of what is available now, we will explore how the different options could work together or individually to support your ambitions and top tips on what each type of funder/lender will be looking for to be finance ready.

The funding and finance sector has always been a busy one but post covid as SMES are focused on accelerating their growth and more products become available it is paramount that Business Leaders know their options.  These include local and national grants, start-up funding, the new Recovery Loan Scheme, other debt products and equity investment.

Hosted by Roya Croudace, former Director of EM3 Growth Hub and Non-Executive Director at KTN, Innovate UK, Roya has spent the last 10 years supporting local businesses with access to finance including Grants & Innovate funding, CBILS, RLS, loans and equity.

Prior to that she was Commercial Director of leading media brands in print and online within the B2B and B2C sectors.  She is now the founder of Alloy where she continues to advise SMES with funding, Smart Sustainable Growth, Biz Dev & Tech Innovation.  Roya is also a mentor on the Help To Grow Management Programme with Solent, Winchester and Kingston Business Schools.

She will be joined by Ant Lilleyman, a consultant finance director assisting start-ups and SMEs with business strategy and accessing finance.

He is a chartered accountant and has over 25 years experience in senior finance positions in financial services (GE Capital) and media organisations (Box Plus Network, Financial Times and NBCU).  Having also run his own small business in media production he understands the challenges start-up and SME owners face in growing their businesses.   He is also a mentor at Set-Squared Surrey providing guidance and support with strategy, grant applications and equity funding opportunities.

Jack Hodgkins from the Apprenticeship and Skills Hub, will also be discussing the Transfer to Transform scheme, which provides the chance for local businesses to help support each other through this crisis as our economy recovers. With all businesses keeping a careful watch on their bottom line, the campaign is not asking for cash or charity, but rather for businesses to pledge some of their unspent apprenticeship levy funding to support SMEs in the region
