The present and future of business in the BCP area.

On the 26th of November 2021, at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth, local business leaders met for a symposium to discuss the current state and future prospects for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area.

The event concluded the eight day, BCP Evolve Business Festival, which was funded by the BCP Council as part of their Bounce Back Fund— designed to help businesses recover from the impact of the pandemic.

The symposium brought together seven sectors from the BCP area, and a spokesperson for each:

+ Creative & Digital—Arabella Lewis-Smith (Salad Creative)

+ Recruitment—Helen Stacey (Aspire Jobs)

+ Services, Products & Hospitality – B2C—Mark Cribb (Urban Guild)

+ Technology—Paul Tansey (Intergage)

+ Public Sector—Ian Jones and Finn Morgan (Bournemouth University & Dorset LEP)

+ Professional Services—Nick Bryant (Inspire)

+ Services & Products – B2B—Steve Jones (Skills for Business Training)

Each sector formed their own focus group, who together discussed and mapped out the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for their respective sectors.

The following is a report on their findings. Councillor Philip Broadhead—Deputy Leader of BCP Council—attended the symposium and gave his feedback at the conclusion.
