The first phase of the Basingstoke and Deane Business festival—hosted by Evolve, in collaboration with Business South, and funded by the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council—concluded on Wednesday 22 June.
The variety of events throughout the festival drew business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the borough to learn, develop, collaborate and generally enjoy the company of like-minded people. Funding for the festival forms part of the council’s quest to bring businesses together and support them following the effects of the pandemic. All events were free to attend.
The festival kicked off on the evening of Thursday, June 16 with a talk by National Geographic explorer Alastair Humphreys.
The following day saw a webinar with life coach Becki Houlston, on the subject of ‘Building Resilience in Uncertain Times’. She gave some great advice on coping with stress and introduced some exercises to reduce anxiety and reset your nervous system.
On Monday June 20 featured three events—The New Hybrid Way of Working, a development workshop on Strategies for Growth, and The Future of Basingstoke and Deane.
Wednesday June 22 featured the three aforementioned events—a development workshop on Leadership & Influence, a Breathwork Practice webinar with Tracey Howes and an Economic Update with Andrew Holder from the Bank of England.
What is the Basingstoke and Deane Business Festival?
As part of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Economic Recovery Framework, Evolve and Business South are working in partnership to deliver a week-long series of exciting events, from 16 to 23 June 2022, to support businesses as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guests will be motivated, informed and inspired through a series of exciting events from keynote speakers, networking breakfasts, virtual and in-person development events. The festival will provide powerful insights and inspiration from experts, peers and local entrepreneurs from different industries and backgrounds.
Businesses can choose to attend up to 12 free events, examining topics from Change Management, Understanding Leadership & Influence and Sustainable Working, to Building Resilience, Mindfulness & Meditation and The New Hybrid Way of Working.
